of Columbus
Knights of Columbus business meeting is the first Tuesday of the month and the social meeting is the third Tuesday of the month. Both meetings are at the Emmaus Center. Christian Foundation for Children and Aging Christian Foundation for Children and Aging is a child sponsorship organization serving more than 310,000 children, youth and the aged in 24 developing countries. Through the generous support of primarily U.S.-based sponsors, CFCA provides basic life necessities, such as food, education, health care and more. Additionally, the organization provides livelihood training programs for parents, and seeks to help families become self-sustaining, live with dignity and effect change in their communities. Grounded in the Gospel call to serve the poor, CFCA is a lay Catholic organization working with people of all faith traditions. CFCA receives the highest ratings from Charity Navigator and the American Institute of Philanthropy. Adults of the Risen Christ ARC II This support group is for single men and women over 35 years. It is a ministry which provides an opportunity for a new beginning or simply a time in life when there is a need to re-energize one's life and spirit. If you are interested in sharing your time and talents with ARC II, please call the parish office. Couples' Evening Bridge Group The couples bridge group meets September through May, the first Friday of the each month, skipping January. The group meets in homes with each couple acting as host twice during the season. The cost is $40. This is used for a donation to the Church, prize money and dinner in May to end the season. Ladies' Bowling The CRC ladies bowling team meets on Mondays. Information is normally published in the parish bulletin during August or you may call the parish office for a contact person. A.R.M.S. Wide Open Group This support group is designed for young mothers with small children. Meetings are every Wednesday mornings, for social activities, programs or community service projects. Baby sitting is available during the meetings. Please call the parish office for more information New Comers During the year opportunities are given to the entire parish to become acquainted with the parish organizations. It is hoped that every parishioner will share time and talent. Pro-Life Committee The Pro-Life Committee was recently organized in the parish in an effort to promote life issues and to encourage parishioners to support these issues which begin at conception and end with natural death. The chairpersons for this committee attend monthly meetings, sponsored by the Archdioceasan Respect Life Office, to obtain information regarding social and political updates as well as suggested projects and events to promote respect for life in our parish and in our community. If you are interested in this committee, please watch the weekly bulletin for dates and times and meetings. Silverado Club All persons 55 and older are invited to participate in the Silverado Club. Luncheons are held in the Parish Hall the third Thursday of each month at 11:30 AM, with the exception of September, April and June. These are evening meetings beginning at 6:00 PM, followed by a variety of programs. Dues are $7 a year ($10.00 for couples) which entitles members to a monthly newsletter and information on the many activities offered. Also available for parishioners 55 and over are the SENIORIDE tours and activities sponsored by RTD. These include outings to the Country Dinner Playhouse, the Stock Show, Heritage Square, movies, lectures, sports events, bus trips, etc. A variety of tours are available in the United States and in foreign countries. Young Marrieds' Group Marriage is an unconditional promise, a lifelong journey of personal and mutual growth. The young marrieds' group provides couples with opportunities to grow in faith together and socialize with other couples on the same life journey. For further information about the young marrieds' group contact the parish office. Ministry for Young Adults Young adults ages 18-32 can participate in a ministry which
sponsors retreats, small Bible Study groups and outdoor activities
such as picnics, hikes, kayaking, canoeing and bowling. In
addition to social activities the group participate in activities to
